Resolving Inheritance Disputes: Probate Mediation Matters

ree

On the 10th of December The Probate Bar Association of Ireland held their annual conference. One of the Probate Bar Association’s core beliefs is that communication between families is key to avoiding and/or resolving family disputes, and this extends to encouraging parties if at all possible to resolve disputes by way of agreement, and if necessary, with the benefit of mediation. For that reason, the theme of this year’s annual conference was resolving inheritance disputes through Mediation. The conference included the following speakers who all gave interesting thoughts and insights on the matter discussed. Speakers included: John Donnelly SC, Chair of Probate Bar Association, The Hon. Ms Justice Siobhan Stack, Vinog Faughnan SC, Michael Counihan SC, Catherine Duggan BL, Laurence Masterson BL, Nora Lillis and Lisa Cantillon.
