Probate Update: Charity Law and update from Probate Officer

On the 25th March 2026, The Probate Bar Association hosted a CPD on Charity Law and update on recent case law.

This seminar provided an overview of the operations of the Charities Regulator as well as an examination of what is required in proceedings involving charities generally. Additionally, there was a review of the recent case law in the area and a general update on probate matters from the perspective of the Probate Office.

The participants gained knowledge on:

• Understanding the role of the Charities Regulator

• Have a knowledge of the key changes in the area of charities law and

• Be aware of issues in respect of probate applications generally
