Edmund commenced practice as a Barrister in 2001. He qualified as an "abogado" (Spanish qualified lawyer) in 2005 and entered into practice as such in 2006 and was subsequently called to the English Bar.
As a Barrister based in Dublin, Ireland, Edmund does a variety of litigation work both civil and criminal with specialisation in maritime matters and private international law.
As an Abogado based in Barcelona, Edmund worked first in Campón Abogados later becoming a partner in MACS Abogados and Campón & Sweetman Advocats. He is now a Partner in Meana Green Maura S.L.P. specialising in maritime law in Spain, as well as offering services in London maritime arbitration and litigation in the Courts of England and Wales in addition to non-litigation work relating to issues of private international law providing services to the “ex-pat” community in Spain relating to conveyancing, and succession law matters.
Edmund was granted a B.C.L. Degree in Law (European Legal Studies) from U.C.D. in 1997 and he qualified as a barrister in 1999. He has a postgraduate diploma in civil litigation from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona and an LLM in Maritime law from the University of London. He is an ex-President of the Irish Maritime Law Association, and ex officio member of the Association's Executive Committee and lectured Admiralty law in the University of Cork up until recently.
